OTTAWA - Ottawa Senators general manager Bryan Murray announced today the club has acquired forward Matt Kassian from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for the team’s sixth-round draft pick in 2014.
Kassian, 26, participated in the Wild’s 2012-13 training camp before being assigned to the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Houston Aeros, on Feb. 12. In 28 career NHL games (all with the Wild), he has registered two points (two goals) and 27 penalty minutes. In 229 career AHL games, all with Houston, he has recorded 12 goals, 12 assists and 505 penalty minutes.
