News Release: Senators re-sign forward Mike Hoffman to a one-year, two-way contract
OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators announced today that the club has re-signed forward Mike Hoffman to a one-year, two-way contract.
Hoffman, 23, played in 41 American Hockey League games with Ottawa’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators, last season recording 28 points (13 goals, 15 assists), a plus-nine rating and 38 penalty minutes. The Kitchener, Ont., native was recalled to Ottawa on March 26 and appeared in three contests for the parent Senators registering two penalty minutes. He suffered an injury on April 2 at Boston forcing him to miss the remainder of the regular-season and each of the club’s 10 playoff contests.
Originally selected by Ottawa in the fifth-round (130th overall) of the 2009 NHL Draft, Hoffman has been held pointless in four career NHL contests. A member of the B-Sens team that captured the Calder Cup following the 2010-11 season, he has recorded 102 points (41 goals, 61 assists) and 98 penalty minutes over 191 career AHL games, all of which have been with Binghamton.
