News Release: Richcraft Sensplex welcomes three tenants in advance of grand opening
Facility to offer the best in training, rehabilitation, equipment and administration
OTTAWA – Capital Sports Management Inc. (the operator of the Bell, Cavanagh and Richcraft Sensplex facilities) announced today the Richcraft Sensplex has reached agreements with three local groups – Hockey Eastern Ontario, Lightning Blade Sports and Pro Physio and Sport Medicine Centres – to occupy retail and office space at the four-pad east-end facility when the building opens on Tuesday, Aug. 5. The Richcraft Sensplex is expected to announce an agreement shortly with a fourth tenant, which will offer the best in sport performance training.
Not only will residents be able to enjoy a significant increase in the availability of ice time with three new rinks, the Richcraft Sensplex will serve as the home of Hockey Eastern Ontario, a pro shop specializing in both hockey and ringette, personal training for athletes and sport enthusiasts, in addition to a physiotherapy and rehabilitation centre.
“We are extremely excited to partner with these local groups and businesses to offer the people in the east end of the city a full service hockey experience,” said Geoff Publow, the Senators vice-president of strategic development. “When the Richcraft Sensplex opens in August, it will have something for everyone, especially for those taking part in tournaments and events held in the venue.”
Hockey Eastern Ontario, the governing body of amateur hockey in Ottawa and Eastern Ontario, will be relocating to the Sensplex this summer. The Branch supplies training to its members in the technical aspects of the sport, promotes the development of both the skills required for hockey and those necessary to work as a team player in all walks of life, and secures the enforcement of the rules of the game as adopted by Hockey Canada.
Lightning Blade Sports has provided quality skate sharpening and arena pro shop services in the Ottawa area since 2001, including a successful operation at the Bell Sensplex in Kanata. In addition to skate sharpening and repair, the pro shop will offer custom team apparel, hockey and ringette accessories, composite stick repair, blade sharpening and contouring and much more.
With 23 locations across the National Capital Region, Pro Physio and Sport Medicine Centres are the leaders in physiotherapy and rehabilitation in Ottawa and will be a welcomed addition to the Sensplex family. Owned and operated by physiotherapists who excel in providing current and courteous care to their patients, the new location will address their patient’s current problems as well as injury prevention measures.
