News Release: Senators, TSN Radio 1200 and 94,5 Unique FM extend french-language broadcast partnership
Three-year agreement keeps team broadcasts on francophone community radio station
OTTAWA - In conjunction with Bell Media’s TSN Radio 1200 in Ottawa and 94,5 Unique FM, the Ottawa Senators (@Senators) today announced a three-year agreement that allows the francophone community radio station to continue delivering French-language coverage of the club.
As part of this multi-year arrangement, Unique FM will broadcast live coverage of all Ottawa Senators games, as well as pre- and post-game shows in collaboration with Intersport Productions.
Play-by-play voice Nicolas St-Pierre and analyst Alain Sanscartier will continue to provide French-language commentary for the station’s live Senators coverage.
“We are thrilled to be entering into this exclusive agreement with Unique FM,” said Richard Gray, Regional vice-president/general manager, Radio/TV, Northern and Eastern Ontario/Maritimes, Bell Media. “Unique FM has done an outstanding job with Ottawa Senators radio broadcasts over the past two seasons, developing an extremely deep connection with the francophone community of Ottawa and Gatineau along the way.”
“It’s a great day for francophone fans of the Ottawa Senators,” said Veronique Soucy, general manager, Unique FM. “Our listeners are extremely passionate about their home team and we’re grateful to Bell Media and TSN 1200 for enabling us to continue our partnership with the hockey club.”
TSN 1200 acquired English and French-language radio broadcast rights for the Ottawa Senators as part of Bell Media’s comprehensive 12-year partnership with the team, which was announced earlier this year.
Live radio coverage begins with the Senators’ first pre-season game of the 2014-15 NHL season on Monday, Sept. 22. The team’s first regular season game is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 9 in Nashville.
