Franklin (Frank) AhearnFrank Ahearn was the pride, the power and the passion behind Ottawa's great NHL days of the 1920's. He bought out his partner Tommy Gorman in 1924, become sole owner and assembled a line-up of stars that won the Stanley Cup in 1927. The Depression years halted Ahearn's benevolence and he was forced to sell off his star attractions and eventually disposed of his rink holdings as well. Ahearn was born May 10, 1886, in Ottawa and died November 17, 1962.
