Randy Lee enters his 19th season with the Senators and his fifth as both director of hockey operations and player development. Previous to that Lee spent one season as director of player development and six seasons as the Senators’ conditioning and player development coach, five seasons in the dual role of video and conditioning coach and two seasons as the team’s video coach.
Lee’s role sees him focus on a variety of tasks, including the management of the hockey team’s budgets and overseeing the development of players throughout the team’s system, including prospects at the American Hockey League, college, junior hockey and European league levels. He also works with the current Senators, guiding them with all aspects of their development, both on and off the ice. Lee also manages the team’s development and rookie camps while advising team management on the ongoing progress of all prospects within the organization.
Lee graduated from McMaster University with a degree in physical education and completed his master’s degree at the University of Ottawa, specializing in sports administration.
Lee and his wife, Julie, live in Ottawa with their sons, Damon and Brandon, and daughter Kristin.
