Scotiabank Girls Hockeyfest
March 23, 2014
11:00am – 7:00pm
Scotiabank and the Ottawa Senators presented the 10th Annual Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest in conjunction with the Carleton Ravens and University of Ottawa GeeGees. This exciting event provided novice, atom, and peewee aged girls with an opportunity to participate in an active day of hockey celebration at Canadian Tire Centre. In addition to on-ice activities, participants also enjoyed a special community session led by CHEO and took part in hockey-specific off-ice training sessions.
Players received the following:
- 50 minutes of on-ice instruction focused on fundamental skill development
- Off-ice “life-skills” session
- Carleton Ravens & University of Ottawa GeeGees instructors on the ice.
Olympic gold medalists and former member of Canada’s national team, Cassie Campbell-Pascall and Tessa Bonhomme, joined the coaching staff to help instruct more than 200 registered girls taking part in the weekend. Participants in attendance were also treated to a special presentation by both Team Canada Alumni as they took questions and discussed their hockey experiences.
