GAME: Ottawa Senators (6-0-0) at Carolina Hurricanes (4-2-1).

Apparently the only thing able to stop the unbeaten Ottawa Senators this season has been Hurricane Wilma.

Now the Carolina Hurricanes will try to hand Ottawa its first loss when the teams meet at the RBC Center.

Ottawa is the lone undefeated team in the Eastern Conference, joining Nashville as the only NHL teams without a loss this season. With Wilma churning toward the Florida coast, the league postponed Saturday's scheduled game between the Senators and the Florida Panthers until Dec. 5.

Ottawa won its sixth straight to begin this season with a 4-1 victory Friday over defending Stanley Cup champion Tampa Bay.

Daniel Alfredsson and Dany Heatley each scored to extend their respective points streaks to six games. Alfredsson has 10 points, including six goals, during his streak while Heatley has three goals and six assists in his.

Five of Alfredsson's 11 career goals against Carolina have come on the power play. He also has recorded 15 assists in 28 games against the Hurricanes.

Heatley has seven goals and seven assists in 12 career games against Carolina.

Ottawa is unbeaten in its last seven road games (5-0-2) against the Hurricanes, dating to Dec. 3, 2000.

Carolina is coming off a 4-0 win Saturday at Washington. The Hurricanes registered 24 shots, scoring three times, in the second period alone, and finished with 41 shots on goal.

Carolina will likely look to Martin Gerber to stop Ottawa's offense, which is averaging more than four goals per game. Gerber replaced an injured Cam Ward early against the Capitals and stopped all 17 shots he faced.

Gerber, acquired in June 2004 from Anaheim, lost his only career start against Ottawa in 2003. In his only start this season, Gerber surrendered four goals in 40 minutes in 5-2 loss against Tampa Bay on Oct. 5.
