The Eastern Conference-leading Ottawa Senators look to get their high-powered offense back on track when they host the Los Angeles Kings.

The Senators had a six-game winning streak snapped with a 3-0 defeat to last-place Boston on Thursday.

Ottawa went 11-1-0 in November and had an NHL-high 102 goals, averaging 4.6 per game, before suffering their first shutout loss this season and just their fourth defeat overall.

The Senators, who outscored opponents 28-12 in their previous six games, will try to rebound at the Corel Centre, where they have won four straight and boast one of the league's best home records (11-2-0). Ottawa will play seven of its next nine away from home.

Dany Heatley was held without a point for the first time in 23 games this season. Acquired from Atlanta before the season, he would have tied Wayne Gretzky's record for the longest point streak with a new team.

Jason Spezza had his seven-game scoring streak snapped for the Senators, who hadn't lost to a Northeast Division rival in 12 games this season. Ottawa remains tied for the most points in the league with Detroit, which fell 3-2 to Calgary on Thursday.

Dominik Hasek made 21 saves but had a personal four-game winning streak snapped and allowed more than two goals for just the second time in his last nine starts. Hasek, who leads the NHL with a 1.97 goals-against average, is 11-4-2 with a 2.09 GAA in 17 career games against the Kings.

Ottawa, though, has not had much success against Los Angeles. The Senators have won just five times in 19 all-time games between the teams, and are winless in six meetings since a 4-3 victory on Jan. 11, 2000.

Los Angeles goes into this matchup having lost two straight for the first time this season, coming off a 3-2 defeat to Chicago on Wednesday.

Pavol Demitra and Eric Belanger scored for the Kings, who went 1-for-8 on the power play and allowed the Blackhawks to score three times with the man advantage.

"Their power play was good, ours was not very good," Kings coach Andy Murray said. "Their penalty killing was obviously better than ours and we haven't played very well for two games.

"The story of the game was they played much better than us. We didn't deserve to win."
