Dany Heatley and Jason Spezza are starting to click for the Ottawa Senators. It's a sight Zdeno Chara certainly enjoyed seeing last season.

Chara tries to help end Ottawa's three-game winning streak Saturday when he faces the visiting Senators for the first time since signing with the Boston Bruins this past offseason.

Heatley has scored in four straight games and linemate Spezza has 10 points in the same span for Ottawa (5-4-0), which has scored 21 goals during its three-game run.

Chara, who spent his last four seasons with the Senators, will be part of a unit that will try to slow down Ottawa's attack. The defenseman, who finished fourth in the Norris Trophy voting last season, signed a five-year deal worth $37.5 million with the Bruins (2-5-1) on July 1 and was named the club's captain.

One of the players replacing Chara is also heating up for Ottawa.

Joe Corvo, who was signed away from Los Angeles in the offseason, enters after registering a career-high five points in a 7-2 victory over Toronto on Thursday.

"Everything I touched seem to turn to gold," said Corvo, who never had more than two points in a game during his three seasons with the Kings.

Corvo has two goals and six assists during the Senators' winning streak, and Ottawa is 3-1-0 since he returned to the lineup after missing the first five games due to a broken foot suffered during the preseason.

"Joe's been great for us since he's been back in the lineup," Spezza said. "He gives us a real offensive defenseman dimension. He competes and he's a really good skater. He's a good addition to our club."

Spezza also had five points in Thursday's victory and assisted on all three of Heatley's second-period goals. Heatley, who became the Senators' first 50-goal scorer last season, has six goals in his last four games after not scoring in the first five contests.

"With a guy like Heater, the goals are going to come," Spezza said. "I think we were a little frustrated. (Senators coach Bryan Murray) stuck with us and kept us together and we're reaping the benefits of it now."

Ottawa, which has won its first three road games this season, could be without defensemen Wade Redden and Chris Phillips. Both players left Thursday's game with injuries and their status is in doubt.

The Senators will be trying to snap a three-game road skid against the Bruins. Ottawa won 5-2 in the first meeting at Boston last season before dropping the final three, including a 3-2 shootout loss in the last matchup on March 16.

Chara scored his first goal as a Bruin in a 3-2 loss to Montreal on Thursday. It was his first point since he began the season with five assists in the first three games.

The Bruins lost when Canadiens defenseman Andrei Markov scored on the power play with 1.2 seconds left after Boston rookie Matt Lashoff was called for holding with 45 seconds remaining. The officials called the game after Markov's goal because Bruins fans began throwing garbage on the ice.

Boston, which is 1-2-0 on a six-game homestand, has scored an Eastern Conference-low 17 goals. Right wing Glen Murray has four goals and is the only Bruin with more than two.
