Big Story: Fewer teams in the league have been playing better as of late than Ottawa, which had an 11-game winning streak snapped on Saturday night at Toronto. The Sens' push has them in fifth place in the Eastern Conference, but just one point behind the Buffalo Sabres in the Northeast Division, who possess the No. 3 seed.

Team Scope:

Flames: Calgary has earned points in each of its first three games (2-0-1) since last Monday night's trade that sent Olli Jokinen and Brandon Prust to the New York Rangers. After notching back-to-back victories, the Flames came out on the losing end of a 2-1 overtime decision at Tampa Bay. It marked just the fourth time in 27 games that Calgary failed to win when leading after two periods.

"We got a point and move on," Flames coach Brent Sutter said. "It was there for us to have two, no question. We came up a little short."

Senators: After winning 11 in a row, Ottawa ran into a buzzsaw on Saturday night in a 5-0 loss to the Maple Leafs at the Air Canada Centre. It was Toronto's first game following the death of GM Brian Burke's son, Brendan, who passed away on Friday due to injuries suffered in a car accident.

"To win 11 straight, you've got to be sharp," Sens captain Daniel Alfredsson said. "We know, at the same time, if you're not going 100 per cent and you make a couple of mistakes, it could definitely change the outcome of a game against any opponent in this league. We're just going to bounce back and have a strong showing."

Who's Hot: Flames forward Curtis Glencross has four points in his last three games … Sens centre Jason Spezza scored eight goals during Ottawa's win streak.

Injury Report: Flames forwards David Moss (shoulder), Nigel Dawes (leg) and Craig Conroy (knee) are out indefinitely … Sens forward Nick Foligno is out with a broken leg. He hopes to return in mid-March. Defenceman Erik Karlsson (shoulder) is out until after the Olympic break.
