Big Story: The eighth-seeded Senators have a shot at  history, as they are one win away from knocking off the top-seeded Rangers on home ice. As if that wasn't enough to get the fans at Scotiabank Place worked up into a tizzy, captain Daniel Alfredsson will return to the lineup after suffering a concussion in Game 2. If the Senators win one more game, it will be their first series victory since they advanced to the Stanley Cup final in 2007.
 
Team Scope:

Rangers: They've lost two straight and have been outscored 8-2 at even strength since scoring the first four goals of Game 1, yet the Rangers believe they are playing some of their best hockey coming into Game 6.

They poured 41 shots on net in Game 5, all of which were turned aside by Senators goaltender Craig Anderson in a 2-0 loss.

"You're going to run into hot goalies and some good defence in the playoffs," Callahan said. "It just comes down to one game and we have to go to Ottawa and win the hockey game. We have a resilient group and we have confidence. We have to win that one and come back here and see what happens."

The Rangers will welcome back Carl Hagelin to the lineup. The rookie has missed the past three games due to an elbow to the head of Alfredsson that caused a concussion.

Senators: Anderson has been great, Jason Spezza broke through in Game 5 with his first two goals of the series, and now Alfredsson is back.

"I feel physically fine to handle the physical play tonight," Alfredsson said. "It's important for me to get in and be gritty right away. Get involved physically. That's the style we've been playing and been successful playing."

The Senators might also introduce forward Jakob Silfverberg, the Swedish Elite League's regular-season and playoff MVP, into the lineup tonight. He arrived in Ottawa on Sunday after leading Brynas IF to its first SEL championship since 1999.

Who's Hot: This series has been all about the goaltenders. Henrik Lundqvist of the Rangers has a 1.78 goals-against average and .945 save percentage, while Anderson has a 1.79 GAA and .943 save percentage.

Injury Report: Rangers defenceman Steve Eminger (ankle) is day-to-day and hasn't played since March 15 … Alfredsson (concussion) will play, but Jesse Winchester (upper body) remains out.

Stat Pack: Since allowing the fourth goal in Game 1, Anderson has saved 130 of 135 shots (.963 save percentage) to push the East's top team to the brink of elimination.
